We have managed to bag 6 seats in upper to NYC using the ex EU route for just over 1K each. What are the best seats to choose on each aircraft for a party of 3 adults and 3 children, we are on a 789 going out and A340 on our return

What age are the children ? If they are independent then I'd try for 6 in a row facing "the wall" (the rear of the seats in the central position) so any on the A side on the 789 and 7A up on the 340. If however they have a need to be in direct eye contact with an adult then any on the G/K on the 789 and the 8G /K upwards on the 340.

I wouldn't bank on being on a 789 on the way out , my last two bookings showed dreamliners but were changed in due course
