Hey,

I'm looking for some advice.

After stopping travelling international on business a few years ago, and losing my Gold card, I'm looking forward to hitting gold again next week.

So, I get 3 points for travelling out to NYC on Monday, then I have a return trip on Tuesday with Delta that will earn me another 6 points. This will get me to 43 points on Tuesday. Now, in my experience it takes days for miles and points to appear on my account, especially with partner airlines.

I really want to enjoy the benefits of JFK clubhouse on the way back on Friday, but I think there is a good chance the tier points *won't* have reached my account by then, despite the fact that I will technically by gold from Tuesday.

I just called Flying Club, and the agent told me there is nothing I can do about it - I just have to wait until they appear on my account, and that is reliant on how long it takes Delta to notify them of they flight.

Has anyone else had a similar situation? Were you able to get you status level correctly recognised? If so, how?

Any insight/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Neil

That only works for VS flights. For partner flights you have to send in your e-ticket and boarding pass - and it takes a couple of weeks to process. I went through this for missing miles on a Virgin America leg early in January.

I've done 6 legs on DL in the last couple of weeks and all posted automatically within 48 hours.

Still waiting on VX on the other hand ...

So far this year I've had 4 Delta connecting flights and each time the TP & miles have posted quickly, usually within a couple of days.

Thanks gumshoe - that sounds promising.

Regarding VX, my last trip with them was awful. They refused to check my luggage through to London, then luggage was delayed at SFO making me nearly miss the transatlantic leg,. They lost one item of luggage and all luggage pieces were damaged. Not a great experience, especially when I the had to case the miles and tier points weeks later. Might be my last trip on VX...
