Hi,
Need some advice, due to fly this week from LHR to MIA on VS05 in PE seats. Was able to allocate seats our seats on booking last year which I did allocating A&C on both the outbound and return journey. Only problem is that the aircraft has been changed 4 times since booking and each time it changed my seats were unallocated. We have now been separated (not through choice) and are currently sat in 20D and 21D and I am not able to even select seats for the return flight as there is only 1 seat left showing on the seat map. Am I able to try and get seats sat together when we arrive at the airport? Is it best to be one of the first to arrive for check-in /bag drop on the day and ask the ground staff if we can be sat together? I have spoken to Virgin customer services but they have said that they cannot allocate seats for us to be sat together. This is our first experience flying in PE (thought I'd treat us as it's my other half's big 50 next month and the flight is the start of a fortnight's cruise from Miami) to say I'm disappointed is an understatement but any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you xx JO

Hi,

There are onky a certain % of seats that are made available for pre selection, so the first place to start would be when you do OLCI at T-24, if that doesn't allow any seat changes, and if it's a full flight in PE then it might not be possible, then again it is worth asking at the airport. There are certain seats that are only available for allocation at the airport, often these are for pax with mobility issues or those travelling with infants, so again they may not be available but it certainly is worth asking.

The ground staff at the airports are used to this sort of situation and will always do their best to help you get something sorted.

**Update**
Just checked my booking online, it looks like someone has perhaps upgraded to UC which resulted in two seats 21 A&C opening up. I have just allocated them for myself :D for my outbound journey. Just need to get the return journey sorted now and I'll be a happy bunny.
Does anyone know how I can find out which plane Virgin will be using later this week? Am I right in thinking they would already know which plane it will be?

VS know which named plane (rather than a generic type) it has allocated but they don't make that information public
