My mistake when booking as it is my first ex Europe flight.they guy they checked me in would have done it as I asked him using the excuse of revival lounge for shower and change of clothes he checked with someone and said I could pay to do it but they would have to check with London .its not to much of a hardship as I only live 20 mins from lhr

Wonder if this is new official policy ?
I know it's always been the correct way, but I believe recently most have been able to book bags to London and accidentally miss the next flight

You should have said you had access to A.N.Other lounge for a shower instead of theirs, and that you had a business meeting and did not want to stuff your suit in hand baggage. Or broke down and cried. I dunno. I think from what I am beginning to read that it is being enforced more rigidly and HBO is going to be the only "guarantee".

Did the give any particular reason for NOT allowing the short check?
Would be a useful data point the next time this gets asked.

Only that I had 2 hrs for connection time and they did ask if I was taking the Dublin flight which I replied yes to that when they mentioned a charge for doing it but would have to contact London to find out the cost that's when I gave up trying
