I'm hoping that there won't be a delay to our first UC departure from LGW but if there is do they keep the clubhouse open.? Looking forward to an enjoyable flight. Thanks.

Normally, yes. It can be quite a strange place with only half a dozen people in it.

Even though some of gates can be a good 10 min walk, we always wait for the call before departing.

enjoy your flight

As David says they usually do. In fact, and probably not what you want to hear but I have been delayed twice out of LGW (once until 1600 and once until 1700) and the CH remained open until boarding commenced.

The team at the LGW CH are exceptional at all times and I can't wait to visit again soon. On both occasions with only a dozen people in the CH, staff numbers were obviously reduced (the spa was closed though) but the full menu was still available and service was attentive and very friendly.

I always feel when arriving and leaving the CH at LGW it's like visiting friends and it's special.

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately I have been subjected to a few delays on vs 15, the worst being 6 hours in 2008 ! Here's hoping for no delays this time but at least we will have use of the CH.

Either I have been lucky, or you have been unlucky as I've done that trip a few times now with no delays.
If it is on time I tend to go to the gate a little early because it's a small cabin in Upper with no lockers in the front and we like to sit in row 6.

I hope you are not delayed.

Thanks Dick D. I guess I am just unlucky having been delayed a few times since we started flying with virgin in 1990. Once we were on VS27 boarded and they had to jack up the front to change the landing gear. The later VS15 then left before us so even when we had a choice we still manage to pick the wrong one!. >-(
