I received a new card last year with my new membership number however the expiry date is 01/17 which I think was the same for a few folks. Anyone got another new card through yet?

in december they sent me a new one with the new FC number, it was valid only until the end of the month, seemed a bit silly sending a card, plus luggage tags, dated to expire in only 3 weeks!
i'm still AU but there's no sign of the new card for this year

Mine shows as expiring 02/17, my old year end was 01/17 - I think they used to give an extra month on the expiry anyway to allow for the new cards to arrive.
Interesting thought actually, I wonder which expiry date will be shown on the airport systems, not every VS employee will know that the expiry dates have been extended by a year.

I cannot help but think VS has lost some direction - many good staff remain and are trying thier best, but the leadership is failing them

The new website has a printable monotone membership card in the My Flying Club section, including the instruction "cut carefully along the dotted line" --- really cheap and nasty, can't imagine anyone using that.
The example card [in Richard Branson's name] shows an expiry date --- clicking on the link below to access your own digital membership card reveals the printable card, however the expiry date line is missing

Agreed. Leadership do not seem to care

Much the same with BA. Alex Cruz is pretty much the devil incarnate if you read Flyertalk.

I'm sure when they changed the FC numbers to a number for life they said they weren't issuing cards any more, but maybe that was just for Red members like me?

Yep, no cards for Red. I already got new ones in Nov/Dec with my new number but with an expiry date of 31st Jan this year. Well worth the expense!!

New cards arrived today which is surprising given the first line of my address has been replaced with the name of the company I work for which is not on my VS profile.......

My new card arrived in November but the expiry date was December 2016. I flew VS last week and the agent at the VS clubhouse in JNB was the only one who questioned it. I told her that's what VS sent to me and after she checked my membership number in her system, saw that I was indeed gold and all was ok.
I think the folks at the VS clubhouse in JFK and LHR are well aware of the situation. What a waste of cards and $$$ though by printing the wrong expiry date.

I am just sad to see another British icon go into decline. No-one seems to care these days in the "leadership". Just take the options and bonus and run. It is just the corporate way it seems.

We received our new silver cards in December which had the correct expiry date on them. We then received another card exactly the same last week. Our kids are still reds and they haven't received any new cards.

I'm surprised they don't issue actually digital membership cards yet - such as through passbook. That being said my new AU cards came through in Nov, my previous expiry date was the end of Feb which then shifted to mid March, not that im complaining

A few days ago I had mw "new" Silver card in the post... expiry date 01/2017. Yep, expired before it's even delivered.
So much for VS cost saving measures!
