What's in a PE Amenity Kit?

I've heard that the PE Amenity kit is the same as the "old" Economy one i.e. a drawstring bag with bits n bobs. Is this true?
Are the bags different colours? I got pink ones and my sister got ones that were purple on our last return trip to Orlando (2000).
I use one bag to keep my cross stitch projects clean, and the other to lug my swimwear around in. Sis uses her for aerobics stuff. Pens are still on the go, but the lip balm and eye shades are long gone.
PS: Boss has given ME his 1st Class Amenity Kit from BA - all I can say is THANKS (VERY LOUDLY) It's totally fabby!!!!

PE passengers get the same kit as Economy passengers, no difference.
Last ones we had were yellow/see through

Yes, the Econ/PE kits come in a selection of different colours... I've seen Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red. I've never seen Pink or Purple.
I've personally only had Orange, Yellow and Blue ones myself (certainly from looking at the pen collection I have).
I also have a bunch of the silver/grey ones which come in the UC amenity kits that don't have "real" pens in them.

As others have said, this is still the case - although the bags are getting smaller[:(]
You get the drwstring bags outbound from the UK; inbound it is the pencil case in the same materail

Phil, are those the triangular red zip-up bags? Still got a few of those knocking about I think, mostly full as well. Wonder how much they'd go for on ebay?

Lewis the duck....I still have 1 sat on my shelf.
I also have several pairs of those now vintage black head-phones along with the old style black and red pen with the post-it note pack with the poem about Richard (SRB that is) on the cover.
The current draw-string bags you get on your US bound flights (econ. and PE) are a very clever marketing item, as how many people do you see walking round Orlando theme parks with one on their back advertising VS!!!

they are handy for the poolside..
I think VS should have a different PE kit as that would differeciate it from Y.
Its doesnt have to be more expensive - just different..
