Check My Options / FlyingCo / Flying Club

Hello,

I need to head to Florida (MCO/RSW/TPA/MIA) in April of this year. I have to be in the Cape Coral area from Apr 6th -> Apr 12th. My best possible scenario would be to burn some Flying Club miles and fly direct to Miami, but I detest the peak mileage fares. It's also worth adding there's a lack of rewards into Miami (and Orlando). We've decided we're happy to depart a few days earlier to utilise the cheaper redemption on the outbound. If you're still with me, these are our options. All flights will be UC for 2 passengers, but all prices and mileage quoted is per passenger.

1. Cash fare into MIA or MCO - £2266
2. Cash fare into NYC - £1526
3. Into NYC. K out (off peak) and Z in - £1231 (this includes the K->G upgrade with tax inc. using 23,700 FlyingCo miles each)
4. Reward into NYC - 105,000 Flying Club miles + £665

I'm slightly skewed as we're currently mile rich and cash poor, but I would like a second pair of eyes to make sure the savings of £ are not clouding our judgement. It's nothing serious - just January being January and tax returns and all the rest of it... I'm leaning towards option 3 or 4, but wary this could be very bad value of our miles. I think I'd snap up option 4 if it was actually to an airport we'd be happy with.

Any other options we're not considering? I've exhausted the BOS/ATL/IAD options too - very similar to NYC pricing.

Thanks,

Mike

If you're interested in accumulating tier points / base flown miles, one option is to part pay using miles.

£1487 Z to NYC
Use the 105,000 miles you'd normally use as a reward to offset by £630

Total: £857

If you're Gold you'd get ~ 22k miles back for Z return.

Not necessarily the best use of miles but not far off the value of a straight-forward Z redemption
