V-Flyer

Really hoping someone can help. We are currently on holiday in Florida, having flown out with virgin via Atlanta in economy delight. We booked direct with virgin 6 months ago and all went fine coming out.

We are due to fly home in UC in 10 days time on the Tampa - JFK - LHR route. I’ve just checked our return flight on the virgin and delta apps and on both websites. All other 4 members of my family (husband, children and father in law) have disappeared from the booking! The only person left on there is me and I am still booked onto both legs of the journey. Should I be panicking? Is there a chance that the rest of the family have been bumped off the flight? I have noticed that the plane has changed since last week and has less UC seats - could this be a factor? Would they really bump 4 members of a family and leave one on the flight?

Any advice would be gratefully received so that I am prepared when I call them in the morning.

Ha ha, that did make me laugh.
On looking more closely, the booking that I am now under on my own has an entirely different booking ref to our original one. When I put the original ref into the website, it doesn’t even recognise it. Does this indicate that the entire inbound booking has been cancelled and then just me rebooked??

Honestly it would be quicker to just give them a call to get it resolved

Ok, seems as if we could be ok. I’ve spoken to virgin who said that for some reason, I have been moved onto an entirely different booking ref to the rest of the family. They are still in the original ref number - I couldn’t access that booking on the website because I was entering my name and I’m no longer on it! Having put hubby’s name in, I can see them all on the original booking.

We are all on the same
flights and the virgin lady had no idea why I have been changed but promises me it is all ok. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the advice!

Very pleased it seems to be solved . You don’t want the end of your trip to be spoilt by worrying!

Maybe you should try to see if you can get back onto that booking ref, just to make sure that there's no issue of being seated separately because you're not all booked together.

Sounds like someone has tried (and succeeded) in splitting the booking. This commonly happens the other way around, when two single bookings become linked, so it's clear to the agents that traveller A and traveller B are travelling together and ideally they want to sit together and the like.
