Virgin Atlantic Voucher

Forum newbie but a Virgin Gold flyer.
I had a flight cancelled back in February and opted for the vouchers from Virgin rather than the cash. Has anyone used these for upgrades at the airport? I'm struggling to find a use for them as most of my flights with Virgin are for business (which are paid for..).
Any help would be appreciated!
