Is it possible to upgrade a travel agent booking with points?
the fare i am looking at is £150 cheaper per person than VA own website
i was looking to upgrade from economy light to premium with points?
There is award availability

Unfortunately not - Economy Light is not upgradable, only Economy Classic & Economy Delight are according to the website.

Even if you were in the correct fare code, Virgin Atlantic can’t alter your booking until 24 hours before departure.

If you’re looking to make upgrades or changes down the line, just book direct with the airline. You may find Virgin Holidays have more control than other TA’s, but I can’t offer any advice there I’m afraid…

I booked a VHols package last night for mid March and rang and asked them to ticket it this morning. I could then upgrade to UC with points an hour later direct with Virgin Atlantic on their online chat. Easy peasy.

ETA This was booked in Economy Delight (for extra points!)
On the online chat the only restriction it says is that Economy Light fares can't be upgraded, nothing about TA bookings or fare classes.
