Hi. Does anyone have more details of G-VAHH and her forced diversion to Barcelona this morning. How did the pax get back to LHR as she is still on the ground?

Engine issues.

G-VINE travelled from LHR-BCN with crew to op back to LHR - left late and landed about 1950. Due to depart over 2 hours after schedule and now due into LHR at 2315.

Thank you. So they suffered over 19 hours delay Surely some could have gone on BA or Iberia. Sounds like VS haven’t handled this one particularly well.

Whilst I’m not defending VS here, it’s never going to be easy or straightforward when an airline diverts to an airport where it has zero presence. No ground staff, baggage handling agents, ground handling agents or engineering staff to manage this or even unload the A/C & passengers.

There’s also the customs/immigration processes to deal with as well as when you land in a country you weren’t intending to go to; so they would have to land everyone and process all the passengers and crew’s passports etc if they transferred them to other airlines.

Oh dear… the recovery flight also went tech before takeoff!

As above, VINE has gone tech before takeoff with a comms fault.

Common sense has prevailed and U.K. passport holders will be given hotel accommodation this evening.

G-Vine finally landing around 20.50 this evening. 39 hours delay. Rare, but bad luck on these pax. Interesting to see a TR from this.

The 787 (G-VAHH) is back on home turf too landing at LHR just after 10 pm.
