Replying to direct message

Please can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong? I was sent a direct message and thought I'd replied, but the reply is sitting in the 'outbox' and doesn't show in 'sent'. I've all sorts to see if I can find a 'send' option but I can't seem to work it out?

Outbox means the other person hasnt read it, it moves to sent once they have read it!

Oh thanks, I thought it meant it hadn't sent, like with Outlook!
