It looks like I will have to cancel an upcoming reward flight booked on VA using virgin points but flying on AF.
I believe I will get the miles refunded? What about the taxes paid?

I am Gold so may or may not have to pay the admin fee. As the flight starts in Paris this may be $50 equivalent I think.

Does that sound correct and can anyone comment on the refund of taxes paid?

If it’s a full point reward booking, you’ll get a refund of all points and taxes paid. No fee if you’re gold.

I called the Gold line and got confirmation that all points and taxes will be refunded. However, while a change of reward flight would see the admin fee waived for Gold I was told that a cancellation of flight does involve a £30 admin fee per flight which will not be refunded unless I was a Wing member?

Anyway a relatively painless process and I can look to make the trip at a later date.
