Came across this on social media, quite neat for the Clubhouse to present the new million miler with champagne and Gold for Life status!

The Clubhouse staff really do go above and beyond, especially when you know them on a personal level.

I was just thinking , how long does it take for a crew member to fly a million miles. My guess is about 15 years. Any crew on here kept count?

Many thanks.

Fag packet calculations here, but generally a full time crew member does 4 trips a month.
So works approx 8 sectors per month.
If we take the average VS route to be about 4000 miles, accounting for much longer trips to JNB/LAX/SFO/PVG/CPT etc and accounting for shorter TLV/JFK/BOS.
We can say on average 8000 miles a week.
5 Weeks Annual Leave
47 x 8000 376,000 a year, so about 3 years to hit 1M miles.
Obviously if the crew member has a north east preference and does a lot of JFK/BOS/IADs then thats probably closer to 4/4.5 years etc, and just cos of frequency those trips tend to come up more often.
