UC seats on the A350 and knowing your stuff before you call

Quick question for those in the know. We are flying home MCO-MAN in the Summer on the A350-1000 which I haven't flown before in UC. Its one with the small number of UC seats, but whenever I read reviews on the best places to sit they are looking at an A350 which has a lot more UC seats? These suggest that you get more legroom in row 1 but I don't know if this is the same for the configuration that we will be on?
Please can anyone advise on where they believe is the best place to sit? There are 2 of us so I'm guessing the middle seats at least?
Also - prior to last night I have always had great service when calling FC and choosing the UC option, but last night I very nearly had to end the call and re-dial! I got an operative who I think was in Swansea but really didn't know what they were talking abou. I was attempting to upgrade my daughter one way PE-UC and she insisted it would require the miles that were for the return upgrade. I kept insisting that the miles quoted wasn't right, but she kept going over some weird complicated calculation based on miles already spent and insisting it was 50,000 rather than 25,000! Needless to say I insisted so she put me on hold to check with someone and came back agreeing that it was 25,000, but it does make me more wary for any future slightly complex things that I want to do! Definitely need to know your stuff before you call these days.

Hi
I have come home 3 times on the Mco-Man A350 and I don’t think there is much to choose between the seats I couldn’t tell any difference
if you prefer to be sat together any of the middle seats will be fine there is only 4 rows to choose from anyway.
l prefer the window seats.
Agree with the rant it’s best to have good idea in the first place .

Do remember that on the A350's row 1 has bigger footwells which helps when in bed mode.

Row 1 on the 35K does have more legroom as mentioned.
However, I don't know whether that applies to seat 1A specifically on the leisure config (the aircraft you're scheduled to be on) as in front of 1A is where "The Booth" is. (The leisure config version of "The Loft" on the main 35K config).
There is zero benefit to being at the back of the cabin as well because there is a thin bulkhead separating you and Premium, and Premium will de-board first - just like they did on the old 744 leisure config.
Remember there are toilets at the front of the cabin as well so you may want to avoid those.
I think for this scenario, middle seats probably makes sense for your party but its much of a muchness in this cabin.
Your leisure config may also change for a full size config as VS does run a full 44J 35K on MAN/MCO sometimes. In this past this has been Mondays specifically but it will change due to load factors and aircraft availability.

Thanks everyone.
I also read about the extra foot space in row 1 but I'm never massively keen on being so close to the toilets! We are also rather small people so probably don't need it!
My one concern about these is when in bed mode - on the A330 I can lie on my side but I wasn't sure if you could with these seats, they look a bit more restrictive?

Whilst the A350 seat is narrower it's still possible to sleep on your side. The A350 seats are not as flat as the A333/B789 seats when in bed mode though. The seat cushion contours create an uneven surface to sleep on.
I dont care what anyone else says, I still think the old A333/B789 seat is by far the best seat when in bed mode. It's the widest (by a big margin) and flattest for sleeping on.

Yes I’ve been on the a350 with smaller cabin I think as only 4 rows? Row 1 did have significantly more foot room and even tho at 5’2 I don’t really need it, it was nice! The only toilet is on the right hand side so if you’re on the left you have to cut through the galley each time to go to the loo, which for me was annoying as I wee a lot! Constantly felt like I was disturbing the cabin crew. So maybe something to bear in mind if you will be up to the loo a lot!

Thanks again folks.
So Louie you think it may be worth going for row 1, even if one of us is on the right by the loo? To be fair I do tend to get up a lot so it would be convenient, I just hate that situation where people are hovering around you because they are queuing for it!

I would always choose row 1 if available yes, never noticed anyone queuing for the toilet really. I guess because the cabin is so small you can see easily if there’s anyone there so not standing around
