Hello from JFK

Heading back home this evening on the VS128. A very busy flight as I was asked if I would like to downgrade in return for a free return flight. I politely declined.

Upper Class check-in is back in the Delta One wing. A new dedicated security line for Delta One is on its way too so hopefully VS J/AU pax will be able to use that once that opens.

Currently in the Delta One lounge which is huge! Just grabbing some food here (and the choice is either a full sit down restaurant or multiple self service hot and cold options). Will explore then head over to the Clubhouse before departure.

Now finishing off in the Clubhouse, which if I’m being honest is starting to look a little tired now. The washroom I’ve just used wasn’t in great condition with a broken toilet seat and no paper towels to dry hands >-(

Now on-board G-VKSS in 10K and its a very full flight with no spare seats (even 1 of those phantom row 97 seats right at the back of economy on the seat map is showing as occupied!)

Have a good flight. Showing 6 hours & 6 minutes.

Would you recommend the Delta One over the CH?

I would say yes. The food selection is much better with more to choose from. There’s plenty of seating areas. Despite it been busy, it’s a massive lounge so there are plenty of spare seats. Showers, spa treatments, shoe shine and massage chairs are all available to book via the portal after scanning one of the QR codes.

The service onboard the flight was as good as always despite it being a very busy flight. Turned out the EI flight to MAN had been canceled along with one of the VS LHR flights.

Hope you had a good trip James.

I'm travelling on VS128 in a few weeks, did you notice anything about when the dedicated security channel will open?

In the meantime did you receive any fast-track security?

The sign just says ‘coming soon’.

I have TSA-Pre which (along with Clear) are the closest security lines immediately as you leave the Delta Wing.

Only 2 other pax in front of me going through TSA-Pre on Monday afternoon.

That is really lucky, the last couple of times I went though JFK the TSA-Pre has a had a longer line than the Delta fast track.

I was in the Clubhouse at JFK last week, and had a good catch up with Luquesha, she said they are looking at some improvements in the next few months with new furniture and carpeting.

I tried the DL lounge above A8 which was looking very swish and fresh and despite the better service, the Clubhouse did feel like it needed some TLC.
