Hello

The next 2 A340-600s are due for delivery as follows:

G-VSSH 20th Feb 05
G-VNAP 20th Mar 05

Those dates are when the a/c should arrive at LHR. They will actually be handed over by Airbus a few weeks prior in order to have the Suites installed by SOGERMA in TLS.

Cheers
Alan

Who gets to choose the names?

I think they should name one "V-Flyer" :)

Oh no! Wait! I see! "shh" = dreamer and "nap" = sleeping.....[:I]

Need an aircraft called VFYR or something....[8D]

I was wondering about this a couple of months ago - who does get to decide on names - why doesn't VS have a competition with first prize being a trip to the naming ceremony - free publicity.

If you check this thread you'll see many names have been thought of on this forum! Maybe Virgin should look at them and offer a flight to the nominator of the best one(s).

Us staffers never get asked [:(] There's probably some highly paid individual in the Central Spin Dept who's job it is [}:)]

I seem to remember a few years ago there was a programme on Saturday night (probably with Noel Edmonds [:o)]) where people were asked to suggest names for a VS a/c and the winner got to name a 744 at LHR.

I think the programme was the one hosted by Gabby Roslyn (sp?). Can't remember the name of the programme though. It was like a modern version of Jim 'll Fixit.

Thanks for info re-new A346s.
My question is when are the rest coming? I believe there will still be 3 from the original orders, plus 13 new confirmed orders for del from 2006-8. So imagine there will be a shedload arriving in 2006, or will one or two more arrive at the end of 2005?

Now if only if ut were the old days were AA would name one of hte planes after you when you did a million miles, I'd only be about a year away...

G-VRTM would be nice :)

Are you thinking of United, rather than AA? I remember UA used to have aircraft named after their million milers...
