Buying Miles?

I need a few thousand more miles in order to qualify for a free companion flight. Is it possible to buy miles?

As I example, I know you can buy HiltonHonour points, but can these then be transferred to Virgin points?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can convert bought HH points into FC miles, but with a maximum purchase of 40,000 points during a year and a conversion rate of 10 points to one mile, you couldn't get more than 4,000 miles, which would cost you $400.

Have you tried the other routes for earning quick miles, like Virgin Wine?

I don't know of anyway of buying FC points directly.

I agree with Helen, look for other ways of boosting your balance quickly.

e.g. Hilton stays with the points going straight to your FC account.

In the longer term - an FC credit card makes the balance tick along very nicely:)

Thanks for the replies. Got myself a VS credit card last month and an AMEX to get bonus miles and the miles are clocking up but just not fast enought at the moment!

Starwood sounds interesting. Don't suppose you have a link to a page which shows how you can buy these points? I have had a look at their site and can see mention of transferring points to Virgin on a 1:1 basis but no mention of buying points,

Another good earner is to pre book your duty free
you get 10 miles per £1

You had better clock up the miles on your FCCC quickly. There is a strong chance that miles earning related to credit cards will cease in the not too distant future.
