Changing FC Number

Dear all.

I'm going to switch from FC Red to FC Silver in December. I currently have my FC Number with many services, i.e. AMEX, Hertz, Avis, as they give me miles for purchases, hires etc.

Will the VS system remeber your Red account number and automatically populate the miles or will I have to physically go into each of these accounts and change the details?

Any help would be much appreciated.

JC.

Hi colbornjames,

I think VS does recognise the Red-silver ( and Silver-Gold)number and will post the miles into your account without too much problems.

Nevertheless once you have your silver number, I would start using it to avoid any problems.

Yes the red number stays with you- its not reused (hence why they are now using 006 instead of 007!)

However if you go up a tier and back down, bizarrely you don't get back the same number of the tier you go to.

Thanks,
Richard

Yes, but it was due to a bug in the Oracle database. I had only just become a Gold, and a whilst waiting for my Gold kit to arrive I was sent a letter to say that I had not earned enough points to requalify for Gold and it was downgrading me to Silver - I then received a few days later on the same day both a Silver and a Gold membership pack - the silver card was a different number to my prior number. I received a letter in between all this to explain there had been a bug.

Thanks,
Richard

That'll teach them not to use a proper database like OpenInsight from Revelation Software... [8D]
