Ok ok ok so I will have to fly on the -300, but does anyone here know roughly how much USD it costs to upgrade?

I don't think I will consider upgrading on the 747 portion from JFK to LHR, but how about LHR-JFK on the -300? How much usually will an upgrade cost (if not complimentary)?

If it is under roughly $750/person then I may consider, otherwise I will be okay...

BTW- what is this "sleeper service" that I always hear about? If I am on the upper deck on Premium Economy, will they not serve us?

Can't help on the USD upgrade price issue but the 747 Sleep Zone is for UC only and is only operated on the east coast US route when flying east. The PE service on the UD is not affected.

Snooze zone is offered on all night flight east coast flights in Upper Class.

It allows upper class passengers to get a good nights sleep.

You will get served a drink after take off then all the lights are turned off and you can be woken around 80 mins before landing for breakfast.

Snooze zone should be booked in advance to ensure you get a seat in snooze zone.

747-400 snooze zone rows 2 - 4 upstairs
a340-600 rows 1-4
a340-300 rows 7-8

It means you can eat in the lounge before take off, sleep in the plane and then eat breakfast in the revivals lounge in London.

PE should only be compared to WTP+ not club world!!!!

Really depends on what you paid as an original fare, but the highest I've seen it is £599.

Last year I upgraded my homeward bound PE K fare to an UC D fare at check-in at JFK at a cost of $1005.00 (£599) - got the UC milage/tier points as it was a D fair. This was in June 2003

I again upgraded my homeward bound flight at BOS last year, this time from a VHOLS H PE fair to UC G fair for a cost of $942 - only got PE milage/tier points that time. This was in March 2003.

Well I paid approx $1,000/person round-trip JFK-LHR on Premium Economy. So should I expect roughly double (+$1,000) @ JFK or LHR /person?

And, the approx $1,000 upgrade fee from Premium Economy to Upper Class is per person, right?
