Rows 11 & 12 UCS LGW 747

Curious.
Someone had posted that the rows 11 & 12 had been greyed out on their flight.
I have just been in to check our flights and on both LGW-MCO-LGW for jan still showing new UC seats but on both flights rows 11 & 12 have been greyed out.
Is there another change to the aircraft or to the LGW UC seat configuration? (11 & 12 are the last two rows in UC, around the bar)

Where do you see what seats are already allocated for a future flight then?

Thanks

Log onto the Virgin Forum and enter your account. You can then review booking details including seating plans. You'll need your booking reference etc to find it.

Thanks, don't suppose there is any way of checking before I book? I have a selection of days I can fly and would be handy to see which flight has the best seats available for me to select

It just struck me,
Is the rollout of the new UCS for the LGW going as planned? I really hope that it is not because the plane could be changing back yo old UC seats, so 11 & 12 would be in zone B [V]

I'm genuinely unsure as it has been a while since I needed to do this. Travelocity or Expedia may make it possible after login - perhaps someone else could chip in...

We are LGW to MCO 10th Dec UC and VS show UCS on manage my booking with new PE where 11 and 12 were. Return on the 21st Dec shows the old UC config but only A and K seats available. I have been told that both ways are UCS but i am unsure as there are two UC configs showing.[?]

Stephen,

yes, my flights show the new PE, but rows 11 & 12 around the bar area are greyed out, almost as if they do not want to book those seats, as they would be Zone "B" on a non UCS aircraft.
It has only changed in the last couple of days.

Ummmmmmmm[:0] Yup my out bound shows my seats for me and the rest greyed out all in UCS. this could mean the flight is over 60% full so no more seat moves on line[:(]
my return is showing UC Old style but only A and K available so not sure what to make of that[:0]

Hi Alan

Not sure it's a zone a/b thing if conversions not done. The new layout has 14 seats in zone A in rows 6-12. The old layout has 16 seats in zone A in rows 6-9 so there'd be enough capacity.

ISTR that you could never self select rows 11 & 12 on the non suite layout so I don't think they would get double booked (i.e. as new UCS and old PE).

It is curious though - exactly the same thing has happened on both my outbound and inbound flights at Easter.

Regards

Pat

My booking for LGW-MCO-LGW 24th-29th December is showing the old seating for both there and back, but with only A and K seats avilable. Both ways have seats available in rows 11 and 12. Because they are using the old seat plan, it's not possible to book 10A or 10K online because they aren't there!

Reservations has indicated UCS for both ways.

Alan

For my VS61/62 LGW>NAS>LGW UCS flights next July rows 11 and 12 are also greyed out for my booking too.

They only bacame greyed out in the last week or so as when the VS61 flight details became available on the web site a few weeks ago, all 14 UCS seats were available for booking then.

Dont worry!

the reason they are greyed out is because these seats are the last to be assigned.

They are the least favourable seats as they are close to the bar.

To reduce complaints the seats are blocked and are allocated on a request only at check in.

Declan

Can I echo my thanks - as we are on the "Cusp" as it were between the original seating on the LGW fleet and the UCS configuration, I suppose it is natural for those who will be shortly flying out of LGW to be anxious about their UCS dreams coming true.

I know how much I was disappointed last year when a last minute change on a JFK flight meant I missed out on UCS - still had a great flight back on J2000's though.

Thanks for keeping us posted[8D]
