Thanks Alan. Really looking forward to my MCO trip on 9 May in a 744. (Regular readers may recall my whinging about the delapidated 742s last Jun. Let's just hope that the current 744 allocation plans come to fruition:D

*sob, sob* I booked to come back a day early because VS10 and VS46 were showing 343 and there was no availability on VS4. It's a Z fare so no chance of a change [:(] *sniff, sob, sniff*

When the 343s start appearing in service in July will they be priorotised on any particular routes - some routes would seem to warrant it more - specifically VS 23/24.

I assume there must be a preferred pattern to keep compensation due to over/under selling to a minimum as the configs are changing from 40/28/187 to 34/36/171.

Hope you don't mind me asking, if the 742's have already gone out of service, what are being used right now please? I have a friend flying that route early March. Thanks!

As I understand it Tinks only VBEE is currently being decomissioned - I think VSSS is still there.

Think the next stage in the jigsaw - now that the LGW 747s have been Suited up - is to convert a couple of the LHR 747s over to LGW/MAN operations and they should be up and running by May - I think.

Hi 2Tinks

Yes Phil is correct. VSSS is still based at MAN and will be there until the end of April. VBEE is the first of the 5 remaining Classics to go to Transaero, although no one seems to know what they're going to do with them!

Hi Phil

Re your 343 UCS query...no idea at the mo i'm afraid! We might get some directive nearer the time to plan them on certain routes but there's nothing out at the moment.

Cheers
Alan

Highflyer,

Airchabum states in the initial post that summer schedules finish on the 29th Oct, so Sun 30th I presume. usualy same day as the clocks change in Europe ayway.

Hi Iain

I changed the URL for ya - use the square brackets ([]) rather than the curly ones ;)

Sorry, lost your "Mod note" in doing so - I was already editing it when you added that :D But it looks like Phil was doing the same - LOL!

Cheers

Misread your question. I'm sure Alan will know well in advance of the actual implementation date,

Hi Highflyer

As with previous seasons the flts will probably be shown as 343 until a couple of months before clock-cahnge. If I were a betting man I'd say that BOS was one of the routes more likely to ge tthe 343 for the winter season, but that's just a guess. Don't forget that the 343s start going for their UCS refits soon and hopefully the PE cabin will get tarted up a bit aswell! :)

Cheers
Alan
