747 at IAD?

Imagine my surprise to walk out of my house and see a Virgin 747 on approach to Washington Dulles (IAD) at 5:30 PM eastern time.

Never mind the fact that the daily flight to Dulles normally comes in around 2:30, but I haven't seen a Virgin 747 at Dulles at close to a year...

Anybody know what's up?

It's the VS3 LHR-JFK which diverted due to bad weather in the NY area. It was about to depart for EWR (due to a disabled Citation closing one of the runways at JFK [:(]) but he's now tech [xx(] It'll probably night stop now as the crew are running out of hours.

FYI VS12 BOS-LHR is also being night-stopped as the airport is closed by a blizzard until 0300 local [V] Bloody weather! [n]
