Hi,
We are going to MCO in May and are on a Z fare, so no Limo.
Can anybody tell me how much Tristar charge for renting their limousine(ca 65 miles within M25) and if you can now use the drive-through check-in.
Thanks
Chris

If you're in the M25 area, you might want to try eLondon Cars for a cheaper quote, but a similar luxury service.

Their website is at http://www.eLondonCars.co.uk

They are also V-Flyer-savvy, so make sure you mention the website name to get a good deal.

Hi badger

If you do a search in the forum using the term 'Tristar' you will get a few threads, including this one in which your exact question is answered.

Just to add if you want to use the drive through check in, you have to get the Tristar booking number that you have paid for and have this added against your booking reference with VA. When you arrive at the drive through, they may say no and you then advise them to look at your booking referenece. Cost within the M25 about £100 but Tristar website gives the breakdown according to your postcode.

Is 100 pounds usual? Sorry about this confusion.

I have already checked out the linked post as well.

Sorry Svenska - what do you mean? All fares are calculated on mileage but the guide would be to expect around £100 within the M25 (London Orbital) area. From my plave to LHR for example is less than £50 as I'm at the bottom of the motorway that LHR is off.

Hi,
thanks for your replies, have asked elondoncars for a quote.
But it may be a silly question, but where on the tristar website do you find their prices? And is the £100 one way or return?
thanks again

Decker,

I mean is 100 pounds a usual quote from say the center of London by Hyde Park to LHR. Thanks again. Also curious about what badger posted as well.

Well it seems a bit high but I'd expect it to be somewhere in that region.

The cost one way from Central London out to LGW is about £88 plus VAT. If they pick you up from LGW you also have to pay their short term parking fee. The drive through at LGW is normally very quick and this then gives you plenty of time in the Clubhouse!

Just to add that the system seems to be going more high tech. When you have added your Tristar referrence to VA you then get a e mail back from Tristar confirming your ICC reference - (In Car check in). This then gives the Tristar driver the information to add to his hand held computer to advise the drive through check in of your arrival.

Has everyone forgotton that you can no longer use DTCI with an own booked limo?
Badger, If you have 10k miles use these for the limo service, but this still doesn't get you DTCI. £100 for a 65 mile trip sound a little on the heavy side to me, but not overly. It costs me around £100 from Coventry to Heathrow which is around 100 miles. A little more to Gatwick which is another 50 miles or so.

Used Tristar from LHR last weekend. Cost inc. VAT to Bromley (SE of London, inside M25) was £155.

Just rang up Tristar for a quote.
Gosh! £170 from Gatwick to South London and £100 from London for an S-class Mercedes. Thats double the cost of any black cab.

A bit steep.
