Read your posting on airliners PIX good job at defending VS!!!

He got upgraded and was still complaining!!

I guess some people expect private jet service for the price of the lowest economy fare.

I have no problem with someone preferring another airline, or even picking fault with Virgin Atlantic - but I do take issue when someone gets their facts wrong :)

If it's the posting I'm thinking of, the original poster had said things like you can only book and 'aisle' or 'window', not a specific seat; that Virgin are getting complacent because Upper Class is out of date and that Virgin's Upper Class food service was worse than US Airways. I mean... please! [B)]

I know i completly agree with you i think he was probably working for BA! I can't really say any J2000 flight i've been on has ever looked tired with wear and tear, and the food is always top notch.

Looks like the UCS product really has BA scared they are really trying to push CW, seen lots more advertising for it recently. I wish VS would advertise the Suite much more they have the best product hands down i love seeing it being advertised especially when they are poking fun at BA i've not seen one in ages.

This made me giggle. Did a quick comparison between VS & US Air in similar classes (Envoy vs Upper) and for a similar meal (Lamb was the only one I could find pictures of each in order to offer a direct comparison).

Sadly you can't do the taste test, but which one looks more appetising and has the better presentation?

Do I actually need to tell you which is which?

i've seen that post and some of the comments on it. i dont like it when people just talk w/o having the right facts in their face. For example the guy stating how you can choose your seats if you live in UK but cant choose if you live everywhere else ..huh
oh well .. what can i say ..some people...

Is the top one what I cooked last night when I came in from the pub[xx(]
The vs lamb shank was one of the best meals I have had in the air and it really did come out looking like the picture.

What does amaze me is that Airliners.net charge for their forum!
Very 80's :D

Slightly of topic, but I feel like sticking my oar in and saying that US Airways was by far the worst airline I've ever flown with.

Chose to go with them in october last year to new york as it was the cheapest option, although it did mean going via pittsburgh.

Flight from Gatwick to pittsburgh was on an ancient 767-200, with no entertainment apart from the communal movie screen, which you couldn't see because noone would close their windows to block out the sun.

At pittsburgh my connection was cancelled due to a cracked windshield, so I had to wait an extra 4 hours before flying to laguardia.

at newark (where I should have flown into) for the way back, they had two 737-400s waiting for two flights due to leave around the same time, mine to pittsburgh, and another to charlotte. but they couldn't decide which plane to use for which trip, making us so late anyone with connections was screwed.

So I complained and flew home with continental, and I can see why Virgin partner with them, they're great :)

Wish I was an expert so I could defend/argue the comments like that.....

I think the phrase 'hasn't got a clue what he's talking about' springs to mind....

Well done pix

Problem is they just dont get it the other side of the pond. Flown United Delta and the only airline worse than BA AA and none can touch Virgin. They all live so close to airports that the v Train offer wouldnt mean anything. I have a second home there and to be quite honest they just dont get the British sense of loyalty than people like SRB inspire

Funny you should say that Jonathan. I live at Cheadle on the inbound flight path. Planes are about300 feet when they pass by. Watched the Delat flight every day on time until I flew and guess what YEah Left 3 hrs late

LOL! I thought that looked familar... that was a picture of _my_ lunch!

I have about 400 pics of my airline meals on that site. I really should get out more. Favourite meal service was a return trip on Emirates in their A340-500 FC Suites between LON and AKL. I really didn't want to get off the plane...

Cheers, Howard
