Anyone else noticed the list of VS destinations bookable on the VS web site has suddenly grown somewhat to now include code-share flights.

Yup - Noticed it yesterday, FINALLY, Montreal features on there... [y]:D

Only issue is that it "can't find any available flights", ever... [V]

And "Raleigh Durham" airport features, but Chicago doesn't [:0][?] (along with other weird choices). May just be a web-bug in the system...

Paul

It's bringing up flights in Y but nothing else to Montreal.

Hmm. Weird. So I can book a Y ticket, but not a business one ?! (and £814 for a LHR>YUL return in Y is a little steep, too [:0])

I tend to do LHR>BOS (Upper) and then a Regional Jet up to YUL in Y (about a 45 minute hop) if I need to save myself from the claws of AC.

The CO codeshare is interesting - I wonder if that's the source of ALL of these destinations? (Although I then can't understand why they don't have an ORD route out of all the NYC/BOS connections available).

I've just had a look as probably having to go to Nashville in October and would prefer to get some FC miles from it. The VH site advertises Nashville but yet it didn't come up as a destination on the VA site?

VH indicates flights to Nashville via Atlanta or other american gateway so I guess you would mosty likely be flying DELTA not Virgin Atlantic. Being a partner airline I believe you could earn miles although I do not know whether booking through VH would make a difference.

Interesting Contradiction.

When booking a codeshare flight the following appears:
Please note child and infant fares do not earn Flying Club miles, unless the child passenger is linked to a Flying Club gold family account.

However the T&Cs make it clear that tickets on codeshares are non-miles earning for children on family account.
2.16b) Children enrolled in a Family Account can only earn Flying Club miles for qualifying travel on Virgin Atlantic (codeshare flights booked through Virgin Atlantic and ticketed on a Virgin Atlantic prefix VS are not applicable).

I spoke to reservations today, as I was having a hard time with the website... trying to book SYR-EWR-LHR and back in November. Was told that some of those codeshares are being cut in November... (probably why the website kept telling me there is no connection for my return, even though Continental's website brings it up).

CO and VS use the same inventory system; its taken them far too long to get this limited functionality onto the web site.

I resulted to booking my entire schedule with Continental. Plus the fare was less since it was a CO Economy fare, not VS, even though flights CO8222 and 8221 are the same VS service.

Only drawback, is that you cannot use VS ff miles to upgrade the CO fare class (confirmed by a call to VS and CO). But if you're like me, and saving your miles for the precious UCS upgrade one day, then just book through CO, since it's cheaper and you get the same service. VS even told me to ring back up once I book it and they'll go in and give me the seats I want, since CO often doesn't have accurate seat maps of VS aircraft...
