Is anyone a member?

Thanks

Hi, Jon - enjoy your fling ;)

For Flying Co try here

Have you considered trying the search tool?

I tried the search tool but it didn't come up with much info.

Are you a memeber of Flyingco?

We tend to book a lot of our flights through VH (hence my other post tonight) but they don't seem to be qualifying fares for Flyingco.

Thanks again

I'm not, though I've learned more about it than I knew before on the VS website this evening - it doesn't look a bad programme, given that the miles are over and above those earned by individuals. There will probably be some v-flyers who are members and know more, so keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone else picks up on it.

Best wishes

David

My company is a member. It works quite well for us. You have to buy qualifying fares and the mileage accumulated is substantially less than the individual accrues so it takes a while to build up balances. You HAVE to do 20,000 miles a year to remain in the program. As an example of the earnings

26 Jun 2005 Virgin Atlantic, LHR-IAD Upper Class by 009009*****, Decker 2,644

Y to SFO gets just under 2,500 miles.

So bottom line is you'll need to do around 4 return flights to the West Coast to retain Flying Co. The best use of it is to purchase CH entry for non Au passengers or to purchase mileage upgrades. Flying Co mileage upgrades take priority over all other mileage/op upgrades at the airport so if you're showing 7s you're pretty much guaranteed the upgrade.

Any specifics feel free to ask.

Regards

Decker

I'm also affiliated to a Flying Co account. It's a useful little extra bonus, and you earn miles on ALL PE fare classes. The Economy fare classes are limited (YBLM), and the UC fare classes do not include Z.

Also bear in mind the 20k miles that need to be earned annually must be earned by at least two travellers.

Didn't know about this part - not widely advertised! Looks like my first redemption of Flying Co miles will be for CH invites - a VERY useful redemption for non-Au holders :D

Well because they won't GUARANTEE the upgrades - as in you can't book a confirmed upgrade unlike with personal miles - they have to be a bit more flexible. Was a tad annoyed when they increased the CH pass charge when they added LHR but hey, it's still free. Trouble is that means a return trip to SFO for one clubhouse pass!

Interesting - they're now pumping flyingco. membership from the very front page of flying club's section.

Looks like they're out for an increase in corporate accounts...

My upcoming Vegas trip (PE) will replenish the Co miles I will use up in getting a CH invite - so a good deal. But then there's the unspoken benefits - just being in the CH increases the chances of a mileage upgrade IMHO since the staff in the LGW CH really try hard with requests like that [y].

Mildly annoying... It seems that all new sign-ups to flyingco. will get a 10k bonus on their first qualifying flights before September 30th. Oh well... [V]

(Still - a good incentive for those that haven't to sign up! ;))

Hi Decker

I think I PM'd you earlier but then got a 'service not available' message so don't know if it went through. Had a couple of Qs.
