Welcome to V-Flyer, sumitk!

How did Paul know what he knew? If you check out this feature of VFlyer, you can see ahead which aircraft is scheduled on certain flights. While sometimes the A/C changes for operational reasons you are fairly certain of getting the A/C shown.

Hope you enjoy V-Flyer!

Regards,
Chuck-

It was a rhetorical question Sean given that he then provided the answer with a link.

Thanks Chuck. Is there also a tool on v-flyer or elsewhere that would recommend good seats? I usually use SeatGuru.com but for some reason that website is not showing all the seats on the planes. Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Try the seat ratings tool ;).

There's quite a lot more on the site too, if you look around... [:p]

Enjoy your trip mate, you get to sample all three of the VS fleet!

On the 343 if your in eco, then go for the last row at the back, it has slightly more legroom i have heard. On the 744 i would alwasy go exit row if i am in economy. 346 i would DEFINATLY get exit row if stuck in eco as the pitch on the 346 always seems tight for me!

Cheers, Chris

I don't work there anymore but I'd be surprised if the VS301 was a 744...it's usually a 343.

Cheers

Now this is interesting. As airchabum says, it's weird to have a 744 on that route. I did double-check at the time, as it seemed strange, but I can guarantee it was showing as a 744 last week.

Just ran the exact same check, and it's switched to an A343 (Airbus A340-300).

This "switching" has been happening more and more from what I can tell. I know the exact plane operating the route can sometimes change around, but can they at not keep it to the same model between booking and flying? [:(!][:0]

(Are they now warning people who reserve their seats that they might have to check every day in case VS switch the aircraft again?)

ARGGHH!

Just by chance, I checked my flight for VS11 on the 17th - Guess what? It's just changed from 744 to a 343 - NON suite! [:(!]

This has been getting worse and worse over the past 6 months, I'm sure. I know that fleet shuffling goes on, but really - what's the point of booking seats anymore? [V]

That must be so frustrating![:(!] I would hate if that happened to me, luckily I get most of my VS miles from caribbean routes where you are pretty much guaranteed a 744 (never heard of a 343 doing a route there). You never know Paul, if it changed that easily it could change back ;).

I'm flying the LHR-DEL route this month, out on the 20th and back on 27th. Seems to be a A343 both ways according to the seat picker. PE looks wide open too so little chance of an op-up it seems, so time to spend some more FC miles on the way out, even J2000 is woth 20k for the overnight flight out!

Ahem,

Just checked in online - guess what? A 744, suite is now offered again (meaning my 3K "revised" A343 seat would have placed my upstairs [V])

A) Lucky I checked in online just now, to notice.

B) Why, oh why, can't they at least keep to certain aircraft types - or at least inform passengers when it changes?

The most annoying part about this whole saga? - The seat I originally selected (17K) for the 744 when I booked was 17K (sad, but I like that seat). Now, after 2 type changes, it's gone. [:(!]

Oh that just sucks, stuck in a UCS,with a bar close by on a flight to Boston you poor man you LMAO :D

Sorry Paul couldn't help myself (again),yes it's annoying to have to play the seatgame, but it could be worse, you could be stuck in a 343?

Enjoy your trip

Paul, do what I did: phone FC and ask them if the person in 17K explicitly requested it. The flight change seat reallocation appears to be performed by an extremely stupid computer, so if 17K is not there as a result of seat selection but the actions of an insane box of wires and transistors they will be able to move them elsewhere. My experience tells me you may have to insist, but it is possible. :)
