Yay, my first post!

I think most of the ideas will go by the time the airlines get to fit out the planes. Opting for more seats = more money, more than say an onboard shop could offer. However, some ideas seem pretty cool. Like the window in the loo.

Hey Tom - welcome to V-FLyer.

I'm sure at least one airline currently have a window in the loo. ISTR reading a comment from a crew member commenting on how some passengers close it.

Wasn't it on Airport some time ago, maybe the guy from Qantus, or was it the Aeroflot guy (can't remember either of their names just at the moment)

Ah yes that was Qantas, John Cull I think he was called. One question, why were windows never put in planes before?

the SQ 345's have windows in the restrooms

Having windows creates a small amount of drag based on air catching in the tiny crevices between window and fuselage. Less windows would mean less drag so if they dont need a window somewhere they wont put one to save on fuel. Ideally they could get rid of windows all together but I guess even Michael O'Leary isnt brave enough to go there yet!

Bars, massages...where have I seen them before?;)

I think SQ also have windows in F on some other aircraft too.

When the 747 came out the top deck had a piano lounge etc on some airlines!

It didnt take them long to fill the space with seats though

The same will most likely happen to the A380, but lets hope not for a while!

one of the 2 toilets in the BA First cabin on the 747-400 has the window.

The window has no blind but a liquid crystal film that darkens when you lock the door so rendering it useless.It was broken on my last flight so you could look out, woo who:D

anteo, nothing to do with drag, if it's blanked you still have the aperture & seal, it's just a blank not a window. Sometimes it's down to being able to move the toilet compartment within a given zone like on the B777, the toilet cubicle having a bulkhead to cover the window.
