Just had to let you guys know this as I'm soooo excited.
I had an interview yesterday for Cabin Crew..... 6 hours long mind you, at LGW. Within 30 minutes of me getting home I received a phone call congratulating me and a job offer and a start date for Monday!!
I can't wait, 5 weeks of intensive training and then I'm off... yippee.
First ever interview in 21 years!! and first time for a position like this (I was a business analyst).
However, there is a downside!!!
This is with BA[xx(]:D[:0][:0]

You must have really impressed at interview! Many congratulations. Is it something you've always wanted to do, or has it come upon you lately?
Best wishes for Monday and the next five weeks.

Congrats Matt. [y].
You will be perhaps the only BA staff member with a VS gold card!
Will you be aiming to work on the MCO/TPA routes? [8D]

That's one hell of a career change, Matt [y]
All booing and hissing aside, well done - I hope you do well at BA.
I guess you've only got the next twelve months of VS gold though, with all that discounted BA travel to look forward to...

I work for DL now, and I still purchase tickets on VS when I travel over the Atlantic...

well done [y]
think of it as a stepping block, if your goal is to work for VS then see this as experience and look out for jobs in VS, whatever you do, give the passenger the best possible service, and enjoy it!

Wow, Matt. That was quick. In the States we make people wait a lot longer before telling them we like them.

Wish you the very best in your new career.

Well done Matt - from BA to BA!!!
I agree with Paul - that is one hell of a career change - what prompted it and was your age an issue when applying for Cabin Crew?

Quick update for you on the training progress. Well they did say it was going to be intensive, and let me tell you they weren't kiddin!!!
4am starts for aircraft visits most morning this week. We've been going through emergency procedures and equipment checks. Opening and closing doors and exits. We had to remove those overwing exits and let me tell you they are so heavy.
We've been going through emergency announcements and how to act upon them. Survival techniques etc...
Had a go down an emergency slide Friday which was great fun, although I doubt it would be in a real situation!!
Next week we're on fire and smoke training (not looking forward to that) and also going for a dip in the pool (not looking forward to that either).
We've also had daily tests, and on Friday we will have our first exam on what we have done so far.
It all been very busy, extremely interesting and very tiering but I'm having a fab time with some really great people.

Thanks for keeping us posted Matt.

Get some rest and keep positive and enjoy the rest of your training. You know you can do it.
My friend is also in the process of doing her cabin crew training for VS too.

Good luch Matt -- keep your eyes open for EVERYTHING they do better than VS, then jump ship and join up with VS in a couple years with all sorts of great ideas!

Seriously, though, have a great time and travel safely.
