LAX - LHR Questions

Hi,
We will be flying UC to LHR in a few weeks for the first time on Virgin. Very excited to try Virgin. Just have a couple a questions I hope someone will answer..

How long ahead of the VS007 flight should we plan to be at LAX? Security can be such a nightmare!

On our return, how long does it take typically to get luggage and go through customs(VS008)? I need to schedule my pickup, but I don't want them to have to wait too long.

You'll find most of these questions have been answered in many threads before. A great starting place for new users is the search facility, where you can find a huge amount of experience already documented in previous posts.

In terms of getting to LAX/LHR (by the way - VS7 leaves LHR, not LAX, so presuming you mean VS8 from LAX?):

Online checkin will help reduce the time you need to be there before departure, but plan on 2-3 hours.

Luggage, unfortunately, is a bit of a random number - as is customs . To be safe, I'd suggest an hour for a non-EU citizen after landing for a pickup at LHR, and about an hour at LAX to be safe too (although this may be less for US citizens)
