Help 1060 miles needed!

I'm in need of 1060 miles!

I currently have 40960 and am looking to get to OZ by the cheapest way possible, which I has hoping to be a miles plus money to HKG and then a reward flight onto SYD. I thought I was getting some miles more friends bonus miles, but they did not book in the correct fare class!

I don't qualify fot the Gold Am-Ex card, to that routes out! So whats the 'cheapest' way of getting these miles??? Any suggestions?

I'm also STILL waiting for my silver card, they claim to be having problems in the manufacturing of them. Anyone else had this?

Hey there jubjubbird and welcome to V-Flyer.

Easiest way to get 1,000 airmiles? Have a look at Virgin Wine. 1,000 miles for your first order and then 750 for all subsequent ones. And you'll get £20 off your first order.

Details can be found on the Flying Club website here.

Enjoy!

Another option is to apply for the MBNA Virgin Credit card - this has the advantage of being free and gives you 2K miles

I've heard MBNA seem to give cards to anyone!!

details here

FYI One problem with the MBNA route is that the free miles can take upto 90 days to be credited.

Welcome :D

Have to agree with Foz (you beat me to it!)

Easiest and best way by far is the Virgin Wine route. You get the miles as Foz said... and then BONUS you get 2 crates of wine too. Be careful to order them separately though because I think the offer is per order rather than per crate.

Cheers

I have recently had this problem, needing 1151 miles for my next trip.

Are you an Hilton Honours member? 10,000 HHonours points can be exchanged into 1,500 FC points. You can also purchase HH points to top up any balance you might have. To purchase the 10,000 outright would cost $100 and a call straight away to member services gets the points exchanged usually in under two weeks.

Is your FC account registered online? If not you used to be able to earn a 1000 mile bonus by simply registering for an online account, but that may not be on offer any more?

Is the mileage for what you need based on standard redemption rates? If you book online you can get a discount of 1000(Y), 1500(W) or 2000(J) miles based on the class you are booking.

Hope this helps :)

Don't know if you have sorted this yet, but try Hertz or Avis.

Get a 1 day hire for a Fiesta/Corsa sized car (£25-£40)

1,000 miles should be showing within 2 weeks.

(Remember to enter your FC number on the website though!)

Cheers for those!

The wines one seems the easiest way, but I don't drink the stuff [:0], Just have to buy some as a present I guess!

The HH points seems like a good deat, I'll investigate that route too.

I'd apply for the card, but I can't really wait upto 90 days as I'm looking to book it sooner rather than later.

Many thanks :D

Hi,
Not sure if I just caught the guy on the phone on a good day but when I booked my reward flight he allowed me to go "overdrawn" Might be worth asking.

FC will let you do this (sometimes) if you have a miles earning flight coming up,or you are booking a miles earning flight then upgrading,on a MPM flight you dont earn miles so your chances are slim.

I go the Avis route myself, quickest and cheapest way i've found to earn miles

I tried this just recently and was told that they had tightened up on this and where no longer allowing this to take place.
