Are 6A & 6K pre bookable? Reading reports they are good seats to have for a couple.
Thanks

I don't think so. We pre-booked 7a and 7k and they were fine.

Thankyou!
How many days before flying can you prebook the seats?

I struggle to see why not though. Since UCS, they're certainly not any of the following:
Bulkhead
Infant Position (never seen it used as such)
Emergency Exit (and never have been)
So why would they be blocked?
(Pre-booking, I think, is the standard 330 days out.)

I guess that technically they are a bulkhead ... well there is a wall infront of you. It does seem a bit silly that they aren't pre bookable.

Strange one this; from experience, 6 A & K are pre-bookable on LGW flights (done it ourselves a couple of times, greta seats) but, for some reason best known to the powers that be, not on LHR flights. Oh well, ours is not to reason why...

Bulkhead seats used to be reserved for special needs passengers. With the UCS this really doesn't make too much sense. A FC Au perk seems to be the ability to pre-book these: I have done so on a couple of occasions.

We always book 6a & 6K on the LGW-MCO-LGW flights. I have them again this November

Yes 6A &K are pre bookable for LGW but not sure about LHR.

Maybe they are skycot positions on LHR flights. Either way I think I actually prefer 7A & 7K.

If you are talking of 6A & K on the LGW flights then the point to bear in mind is that there are no overhead bins directly above you and there can be a "scrum" for the bins above 7 & 8;)

As said above I've been able to pre-book these seats, actually I've booked them on both LGW and LHR flights, although every time has been over the phone with FC and not using the online picker.
I really can't see a reason for these not being pre-bookable though in UCS.
The bulkhead rule has worked in my favour though on my last two W flights as row 18 (343/346) has been open on both and I've had two seats to my self on the overnight flights

Lily I don't think there are any skycot positions in UC on the LHR 744 unless things have changed.

Bazz, I thought it was LGW that had no skycots in UC and I though LHR had them in Upper but not in PE. I'm probably wrong - my kids are past that stage thank goodness!

Oh!
Are 7A&K better then?
Should I aim for these?

Twinkle,
I think the advantage of having upper cabinet storage is important. I don't believe the LHR aircraft have that either in row 6. For me, it's row 8. But ... the closest seats together, except those in the next zone back, are 6A and 6K. And they really are quite close, which obviously facilitates conversation and maybe even a bit of "footsies".
Have a look at seat ratings, which displays the distances quite well.

Twinkle, I just find that 7A & 7K feel a bit more spacious as they are slightly further apart (but still close enough for a couple). I feel a bit hemmed in in 6A or 6K. If it was me I would probably go for 8A & 8K because of the storage bins.

Nooo, send the wife on ahead, get her to lie in the bins above seat 8 and repel anyone who tries to take the bin

Yes - I pre-booked 6A & 6K from EWR a few months ago. They are OK for a couple as long as the other one doesn't snore, as I was told

The ottoman seemed ever so slightly smaller. I seem to recall thinking that you might need a V-shaped butt to fit in it if you cared to take dinner with your spouse.
You are guaranteed zero passing traffic in 6A & 6K.
Cheers, Howard

Good choice, I too like the width of the downstairs area in preference to upstairs, and to be in the nose where it is quieter. Though, just as these things are subjective I like 8A and 9A because I find that if you want to natter discretely you can over the partition. Of course you can use the ottoman too if you want to talk.
On another matter, I also like to have my window blind open cos for some reason seeing the clouds flying by gives me a sense of reassurance, so I generally choose K out (London to the US) and A back so that the sun isn't shining in.
Hope you enjoy this flight enormously - oh and don't forget to book your treatment at the spa on your way back (I've just booked a Rhinestone Cowboy!!!).

Is the best treatment the shave for a man? Its a surprise for him (hubby)to travel UC so treatments have never been an option before.
