The End of FCCC Miles?

PostPosted: 06 Sep 2005, 18:43

In a long-awaited ruling the Office of Fair Trade has today announced that it has found that fees charged by members of Mastercard UK infringe competition rules.
The charges that retailers pay to Mastercard are too high, covering, as they do, all those little fringe benefits that the card companies like to 'give' to their cardholders. Fringe benefits like FC miles!
Ultimately, unless Mastercard successfully appeals, FCCC miles may disappear.[:(]

Isn't that what the story is about? Lowering the rates? Or were you referring to the yearly charge for the card?

Relax, there is always AMEX, 1 mile per pound I know
but still better than nothing.

I know its not taken everywhere, but AMEX are surely
on the offensive. Have you seen that latest purple monstrosity
they have produced with a big supermarket ?

Either that or the interest rate ... you can be sure that now they're used to the income they won't give it up ... so expect some increase or a withering away of benefits. Sorry, sad but true
