I haven't flown UC for a couple of years and it seems things have gone somewhat downhill since then. I am booked on VS004 JFK-LHR at the end of November. What is the story on sleep suits? Are they still handed out or must they be requested? And what do they look like these days? Just curious. Thanks. :)

They're still handed out on night flights - they're a slightly more subtle plain black - with a tiny VA logo on them.

(You'll find lots of discussion on Sleep suits by using the search function;))

I am sorry that you have observed a downward trend in UC, but am even sorrier to say that there are a number of threads here that reflect that view. Perhaps the infamous Good Night Flight thread being the most voluminous example.

FWIW, I still think J on VS is a damn good product, as is the FC.

Sleep suits are handed out on night flights, and ISTBC available on request on day flights. They are a snuggly black "track suit" number, known as Ninja suits!

I certainly don't think the UC product has gone down, but yes we worry about change yet still try to balance that with the whole experience.

In recent months we have worried about GNF, lack of certain amenities in kits, and changes to food, but on the upside we've seen the new fabulous club house at LHR, the maintenance of excellent crew, expansion of UCS et al. So I'd say six of one and half a dozen of the other, but not negative.

Anyhow, will post my latest views after LHR to LAX tomorrow!

I hope you find your next flight fabulous.

My hand's up!

I wore the black ninja ones last winter as jammies (and fine and cosy they were too. I also wear the pants of the grey and purple ones to the gym - and when the weather gets colder I'll wear the top too.

I am trying to picture these Ninja suits... Do they have v-cut necks and wide sashes like Oriental marshall arts outfits?? What are they made of - something snuggly like polartec or slinky like silk (well, polyester)? I'll be heading to a Danube Christmas markets cruise and I'm beginning to wonder if I should leave space in my suitcase to fit in my "coveted sleep suit" for cool nights on the river. I'd love to see photos of Honey Lamb, Decker and Mrs. D. et al in ninja mode! Post them, please.:)

I think collecting photos of all the members of v-flyer in their slumber-wear may be considered dodgy:D:D ;);)

They are a black number in a light fleecy material. Rather snuggly. There is a slight v-neck which doesn't come to a V that far down your neck. The top does not open at the front, and there is no fly.

I collected a couple of the different "barf bags" from when they were doing a star wars special edition. I'm not quite sure why, but hey![:p]
