You get a phone call from SRB and he asks you to suggest ONE ENGLISH CLASSIC DISH for the Upper Class Freedom Menu.

What do you suggest???

Spotted dick? Bubble and squeak? A neon trifle? Yorkies?

If it was really well-prepared, anything "curry" is one of my favorites. And, if I was relaxing in UCS and ready to sleep, a nice portion of Welsh rarebit with a great glass of wine would suit me fine.

Bangers & mash is pretty popular already and easy to make (ahem reheat) on board.

I liked the idea of roast beef and Yorkshire puds, but sadly I cannot imagine the puds coming out particularly spectacularly, or the roast tatties for that matter.

Shepherds pie or cottage pie.

Bread and butter pudding (Or is that the same as the French pain perdu?)

School dinner spounge puds like chocolate pud. Remember that pink custard - what was that all about?

Rice pud with jam.

Howard you are a brave man for bringing up the B&M again..

Had the curry on our BA flight this month,it was pretty good.

though to me if you are looking for an English meal it has to be the sunday dinner..though how they would handle roast potatoes is another question.

Christmas pudding with Holly on top washed down with a pint of Sam Smith's.

Following AlanA's first reply at the top of the thread - I'd like to propose Vegetarian Moussaka, extra cabbage, baked beans and 12 pints of guiness for a heady atmos' indeed.....

Filet Steak - cooked to order (bloody please!! - infact, if it is near well done I'll have something else thank you very much!)

A cheese plate including Bougnon Goats cheese (served in UCS in May - they do get some things right!!)

And dont turn the bl***y lights off whilst I'm eating - Good Night Flights grrrrrr!!

I'm going to have to vote for the Toad in the Hole idea. Can't remember the last time I had it but it cetainly would be impressive on a flight!! Now to decide what to wash it down with.

How about a steak and kidney pie, served with mash and liquer?

Three words folks: Sticky, toffee, pudding. I don't whether they've had this on board before or if they do now, but they should!
