This issue has been mentioned many times here, and is soemthing that VS are aware of.

There have been rumours for a while that they are going to address it, with a big (long overdue) re-write of the online booking system, but I don't know when it will happen.

Expedia shows the fare class, just click on the terms and conditions button once it throws up the flight & fare

but that's only for the ticket you are looking at, there's no ability to check the other fare classes and buy a different one.

Next time you're on the VS website and the little box pops up asking you if you'll take their online survey, do it. There's an option at the end that asks for three specific improvments you'd like to see made to the website. If enough of us ask, maybe they'll do it...

Exactly what I did when I got the survey, asked for this and an advanced user mode that gave some more options around fare class.
