Fare Code for companion in J

A quick query - for an Upper Class companion ticket ( Credit Card or Gold Renewal ) I know that the ticket purchased must be in J class.

However, is there a restriction on which J ticket you need to buy?

i.e. for LHR-PVG for next June ExpertFlyer shows 6 fare codes for J tickets, with prices ranging from £3787 - £4915. The difference certainly is important in working out whether 1 x J is less than 2 x Z etc.

Or am I right in assuming that if I buy a ticket in any fare basis in J class it is valid for companion award? T&C 4.3.10 says:

"Any full Upper Class fare booked in J class. Excludes Z Class APEX and Excursion type, seat sale or any other special/promotional type Upper Class fare."

A bit concerned by what 'full' means...

Thanks,

David.

As long as its booked in J class you will be fine, don't forget there will need to be availability in G class for the companion seat.

Thanks,
Richard

Thanks Richard, I'm glad it's not more complicated than I thought it was.

David.
