Probably 1000ft below on a North Atlantic track with a decent lens. The ONLY way you can achieve this type of shot from an angle such as that is from a cockpit window.

If only I had the equipment when I had the access! [:#]

Get your hours in Seany and soon that COULD be yours! [y]

John

What's that long brownish mark underneath? Either it's rust, or emptying the toilet time ;)

The brown streak underneath is as someone else said Coffee and tea stains! Anywaste from the galley sinks goes overboard and there is a drain point near the frount of where the streak is....don't worry, the toilet waste is not dumped overboard!

Wasn't toilet waste dumped as standard? I have heard many stories (having lived near LHR for years) from people claiming that 'Blue Ice' fell in the gardens as aircraft flew over.

No, its in a selad container which is emptied at the airport, Environmental health issues would mean the airline bineg fined very heaviliy if such dumping accourred.
They can howver, have ice formations coming off the aircraft as it descends and the ice warms up a bit.

Definitely have to use a holding tank. Blue ice is more likely just ice that has formed on the plane and falls off as it decends. If it were frozen dumpings, excuse the phrase, I don't think it would be blue[:$]. Mind you, if dumpings were to be falling in people's gardens, my, wouldn't the roses grow well.:D Maybe that would explain all the wonderful blooms at chelsea each year[:(]

What I want to know alan, is why you thought the toilet waste went into a salad container? Are you trying to say something about UC food?
