just seen an offer on the virgin members shop for an offer on blockbuster subscription.
This is the link.

basically if you sign up for the dvd by mail rental service you get 3000 reward points, which if i understand correctly, you can convert to miles if yoy have a flying club cc. Sorry if i have misunderstood the points / miles tie in but i am sure someone on the list will be able to confirm[?]

Looks like you have to subscribe for at least a month before you get the points, so £14.99 for 3000 points.

It seemed to be good value to me as i saw in a previous post that the average was 1 to 2p per mile and this equates to .5p per mile. On a personal note i use blockbuster at least twice a month and using this method will mean i dont spend an average of £8 per visit on ice cream and snacks on top of the rental. win win for me. Allthough i will miss that chunky monkey!:D

Can you convert points to FC miles if you don't have the FC CC? I have the normal one [:#] I can't see it listed in the reward shop.

Cheers!

I phoned, and no. I need to apply for the FC CC, so I'll do that tomorrow, then transfer my points I have already [^]:D

I had a look in the members shop at this offer.

I already have a Virgin Credit Card that gets me miles instead of points. I phoned the members shop to find out if I could be creditted with miles seen as I didn't get reward points with the card and they told me no chance. I would have to get a points credit card take advantage of the offer and then request a 'one time only transfer' of points onto my miles credit card and then they would be transferred from there onto my flying club account.

Sounds like a lot of messing around to me and there's no guarantee that I will be able to get both a Virgin miles card and a Virgin points card at the same time as they are both MBNA cards.

This of course means that I cannot take advantage of any of the members shop offers and get rewards [n]

Thanks fadge. MBNA have just approved my FC CC, so I can collect the miles on my other card, and then transfer all my points over in one go before closing the account [y]

Another step closer to that Upper class upgrade [^]
