How early?

Hello

I'm planning on using Twilight Check In at Gatwick and Downtown Disney Check In. That being the case, at what time do I need to be at the airport in order to clear security and be at the gate? An hour before departure? Is that enough?

Any advice and tips welcome

Richard

An hour is fine at both ends if you are going straight through to security and boarding but it really can depend on what time of year and the day you're travelling. MCO security can be especially busy around the holidays and weekends.

Bear in mind if you wish to purchase duty free, especially in Orlando, you may need another 30 minutes. I have found on my last few trips that they closed duty free purchase in Orlando as much as an hour and half before the departure time.

Hope that helps

Hi,

I would say that 1 hour at MCO is cutting it a little bit fine. You will probrably be OK most days, but then one day the lines will be Very long and you may not make it. I would allow 1.5 hrs for safety.

two years ago I arrived late at MCO and waited in line for nearly 50 minutes for security! I did make it to the plane, but everyone else had boarded and I was v.lucky!

Hope this helps.

Neil.

I agree with Virgin Lover, 1.5 hrs is probably the minimum I would allow, and that's after handing back your hire car. Me and the present Mrs Treelo took over 40 mins to clear the security check area at MCO in May this year and around 35 mins last year, so it looks to be a fairly standard time. Assuming that you want to have a drink/snack/browse/duty free shop, you will probably need the extra time.

Enjoy:)
