I have read a couple of romours that the flights from Man to Orlando will have refits this year. Anyone else heard this?

What seats are in club Orlando (Upper) on these flights J2000 or others?

cheers

Haven't heard any rumours about refits to the 747-200s from MAN, although I guess it's possible. Don't know if the 200 series feature in the Suite plans, but I'm very doubtful given the low business class traffic on those routes.

My understanding is the MAN 747s have J2000, the LGW have the Recaro and the LHR have (mostly) Suites and (some) J2000.

The plan is to replace all the 747-400 & 340-600s with Suites; which leaves the 340-300s and 747-200s with whatever they have now.

Any updates from VS staffers?

Pix,

In Dec 1999 when we flew Club Orlando, the seats were the Recardo seats, (I have some pictures and film of it)
When did they convert to J2000? (always miss out [:(])

The Recaro seats are on the LGW 747 fleet, since they were the ones they picked up cheap from a cancelled Alitalia order (and they kept the seats that had been fitted).

As for the 747-200s, I could be totally wrong, but as they where originally Virgin aircraft before going to Air Atlanta and then back to Virgin on wetlease, the equipment inside has been fitted by Virgin. I'm sure I read somewhere that they had J2000 - but it's totally possible that they have the old style Upper seats (more like a traditional seat than the J2000 or Suites).

I couldn't find any photos on A.net to confirm or deny this, but G-VRUM, which is one of Virgin's old 747-200s, seems to have had J2000 fitted.

I have read on another forum that Virgin are to start operating a 747-400 service out of MAN this summer. I don't know if that means they are stopping the Air Atlanta lease and operating it themselves.

I'm sure I also read that they are going to start a Barbados service from MAN too.

It will be interesting to see if they can get the slots.

Man is really busy especially 7am to 11am. The last four occasions I've arrived on VS076 there hasnt been a gate availble and we have been bused in from the apron

Any increase in the MAN service would be good news and a step in the right direction
