Since it's been mentioned elsewhere that it's a bit quite, perhaps this is an ideal opportunity to solicit your thoughts and valuable input in the next edition of the V-Book.
If you have any nuggets that can be shared as useful hints for others, please feel free to scribble them down in this thread.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

How about
A full review and detail of each of Virgin's own lounges
Some detail of the Limo and Limo Bike service
A comparison between (restrictions, changes and maybe a one off spot cost comparison to give you an indication of money vs miles)
a) Full rev restrictive seats
b) Miles plus money
c) Pay and Upgrade
I'll post any more I think off

Can you give me another 2 days per week to help write the updates?

Thanks,
Richard

I haven't bought it.. as I figured that this website provides the same info, and always up-to-date..
However, if the book was to contain some readable material, exclusively, as well as facts and figures, then perhaps it would sell better.

it's not so much the facts and figures,it's the fact that when standing at the airport counter and the person behind it is trying to tell you that you cannot pay to upgrade your cheap eco ticket to an L so you can use your miles to upgrade to PE you have a referance in your hands..

It's true, that much of the info in the V-Book can probably be found on V-Flyer, but there are also some big chunks of data that aren't available online. Probably the biggest benefit, as Dave points out, is the fact it can travel with you. Apart from that, it's another thing that chips in a little to pay for the site

Yeah, fair enough. How about a short biography of SRB.. an ultimate indexed FAQ guide to upgrades/miles etc as you mentioned.. and yes, a guide to the clubhouses would be great!.. what's on offer, what's recommended etc..

Well, pretty much all that's in the current edition, and will probably be enhanced further for the next.

Might be worth hanging on for a month, as the new one will include the schedules up until Oct 2006, and the current one only goes up until Mar 06.

Hi
Is it stricly limited to VS info ?
Thought maybe some anectodes/unpublished true stories/highlights
from various V-flyer social might help sell more
copies. Or is the risk of litigation much too high ?

As far as I can remember no one got to out of hand,a little all night gambling,a few drinks, the need to drive 500 miles in one day..that was about it..im guessing that if we can get a group toegether for a weekend in Spain there might well be a few more stories to tell.

Ahem.
Back OT.
My initial thoughts on the next version include making the following changes:
- Update all the RTW changes (The VBook does have some content that is not on the site such as this, a guide to the RTW tickets, and exactly how fare codes work)
- Some stuff on Limos, qualifying, changes to drive thru, catchment areas
- The updated sections on the Clubhouses, including the revamp on LHR
- Section on the various V.Touch treatments at CHÕs
- Update the schedules
- New Routes
- Update the FC pages for relation to the new routes for TPÕs, miles earned etc
- Updates on the fleet
- Companion rewards using them, best strategies etc
- MilesPlusMoney guide (kids tickets etc)
Me and Pix are also looking at a combined info section, where there is a page or two for each destination that includes info on timezone, currency, # of miles earned , # of miles needed for reward, and ultimately some local tips to help out. It is these local tips and hints that I will need peoples help with - if you supply a tip that is used, we will put your name against it in the book.
Thanks,
Richard

Can you include in that the type of electrical plug used and the voltage?

Oooo.. good one. I'm about to buy a laptop, never having owned one previously, and I haven't yet figured out what I will need to use it overseas.. and onboard, for that matter.

Are we still going to put a section in that lists every single flight, by day, until 2007 with the exact plane that is going to be operating it along with the listing of defects planned for each seat? [:p];)

Love the idea of the RTW section.
How about a VH section?
Quickest ways to earn those needed miles..Avis..VW etc
