VS Xmas flights

Do any of our VS staff or members who buy at "anoraks 'r' us" know if VS still operate all their flights on christmas day? And if so, how full are they normally. I've only ever travelled on Boxing day, two years ago, to JFK and J was completely full - not one seat open I don't think.
Cheers,

Well, there are certainly flights operating -
check the front page...
I haven't seen any cancellation notices, but a brief check on ef.com shows only the 9 and 17 NYC flights operating (9 full in Y, both wide open otherwise) on the 25th [?]
Neither the VS19 or 20 show up on 25/12 - they route you through NYC... [:?]

Don't they pretty much have to run a full schedule to keep aircraft and crew in the right places?

I can't speak for VS, but a few years ago (okay, a good few) I was on a BA flight to NY on the 25th... I remember it clearly, because at 3pm GMT, every screen and speaker on the plane activated, and we were treated to the joy that is Liz's Christmas postcard [:?]

That is a good story! Welcome to VFlyer, vmlinuz.

Have frequently flown on Christmas Day to the US, previously on AA and they do run a full schedule ... just whatever you do don't expect AA to make an effort - you get the usual service delivered by the usual dour flight crew!

I usually fly on Christmas Eve to HKG and have been doing so for the last 2 years but unfortunately not this year. The flights are full to the brim. This time of year is very busy especially the tickets are cheaper from the 24th onwards.

Flew on
VS015 last year on Xmas eve and this year I will be on VS043 on Xmas day (ie tomorrow!). A quick check reveals there are at least 2 G class seats available so it can't be too full a flight.
My sister and I are on S fares, so you might be thinking i'm a bit of a loony for not upgrading to the G right now. Problem is, we didn't pay for the tickets, and the person who did is travelling with us on a K. So unless he manages to upgrade at the airport, it doesn't seem right leaving him behind in PE and upgrading to UC...

Nah, Jason - at the airport, all bets are off!
(You really need to start thinking more like a lawyer - "what's in it for me?"... [}:)])

But isn't that exactly what i'm doing? What's my chances of having future flights paid for, if I abandon my "sponsor" on this flight and upgrade? [8D][}:)]
Anyway...not all lawyers are like that....honest.....[:I][:w]
I'm thinking there's a good chance of him upgrading his K at the airport tomorrow, bearing in mind how full PE often is, and then i'm all set.

All the flights out of LGW tomorrow are fairly full with the only seats available being the odd W and a few J.
