VS107 LHR-LAX

Bet you haven't heard about this one ;).

It just left London for LAX, and is apparently VS7 from yesterday departing a day late..

Correct it is although it did leave yesterday but returned with a technical fault.

I'd assume some pax were re-booked on to yesterdays later VS24?

I believe that most were put on VS24 and some moved to other airlines.

I am not sure why there were then 3 flights to LAX on the 31st Dec.

WHY have they started to use A340's on the LAX route?? I personally think the airbus is dreadful, why the switch?

It's all to do with passenger/cargo loads and the time of year.

This time of year, passenger loads are lower to LAX, so it's not good business practise flying a half full B744 every day to LAX when a smaller A343 or A346 can do the same flight. The B744's will be doing other routes which are more busy this time of year (eg South Africa)
