And on the BA website too, under 'Special Offers' then 'Business Travel Offers'.
Limited to first 4 return flights. The other great thing is that the Silver / Gold bonuses are tripled also....

* Eligible booking classes: FIRST (F, A); Club World (J, C, D, ). To qualify, both legs of the return journey must be completed in the same cabin class. The Triple BA Miles offer is limited to the first 4 eligible return flights completed during the promotional period.
So, as before, the lowest fare class in J is not eligible - but all others are [y]

Wasn't that the same as the last VS offer? I thought the last offers like this excluded Z class.

I just received an email from BA on this very subject. If Virgin don't match this offer I am very tempted to cancel my upcoming D flight and re-book with BA despite the cancellation costs.
Heres hoping I don't have to do that.

I too am waiting to see if Virgin match this offer... planning on Cape Town in March. With both of them being near spot-on in price terms this is an important differentiator.
It should be noted that in Club you get 1.5x flown distance miles, with FIRST being 2x, so if Virgin match it then it really would be appealing if comparing Club to Upper Class e.g. LHR-CPT return = 54174 miles BA as against 72228 for VS.
If you are BA Silver or Gold though, the triple miles also applies to that bonus also, so Silver's would get another 13543 miles (25% x 3)on the above route, with Gold's getting another 27087 miles (50% x 3), so a Gold would earn 81261 miles on the above route in Club or 99315 in FIRST. I don't think the previous years offer from VS and BA gave any extra benefit based on status.
Please correct if I've got my sums wrong!
Thanks,
David.

Numbers look right to me.
Would VS triple the gold bonus too I wonder? This would add a further 9200 miles on for them. This maybe too much to ask given they already do 2 x flown miles in business, but 75298 (72228 + 1535x2) for a VS gold compared to 81261 for a BA gold doesn't look great. Whereas 81438 (72228 + 1535x2x3) for the VS gold looks much more comparible!

Is BA Gold comparable to VS Gold in any other way then being the same colour and top tier level? Just thinking in earning requirements etc. If you do enough flights on VS to get Gold would the same number of flights on BA in the same class (J) get you Exec Club Gold?
Also how does miles spending related? 80k on VS for a J return, what is it for an Exec Club J return?

Now this will be interesting to see - I think BA Silver is comparable to VS Gold ( in terms of obtaining, BA Gold is a lot higher ) and has the same 25% bonus. As you say though, 2x earning in Upper Class is already generous compared to Club.
Of course, these calculations to compare the two are all dependent on VS matching the deal - if not it's pretty academic - flying BA Club in my instance will get me 30k more miles than flying VS Upper. For me, easy decision for those kinds of miles.
Thanks,
David.

BA Gold is rather more difficult to get than VS Gold, though the way to get there can be different as you don't have to fly long-haul of course - and with discounted Club Europe fares etc BA Silver can be obtained, which gives you lounge access, priority boarding plus the 25% miles bonus.
For long haul - to get Silver on BA, you need 3 round trips LHR-JFK in Club, as opposed to 4 x Upper to get VS Gold. BA Gold though, is another matter, as you would need to do another 7 x LHR-JFK to get to become BA Gold.
I think the redemption levels are typically higher also - In Club it's 100k to USA, 160k to Tokyo, 200k to Sydney.
Again, any corrections welcome... not an expert...

Thanks,
David.
( Edited as got the number of trips required for Silver / Gold wrong )

Not tried to suss out any information ( Not a Gold so can't speak to the all-knowing Premier Team ) but am strumming my fingers impatiently for any news. Admittedly the BA offer was only announced 2 days ago but it seems a long time ago....
I have a nasty suspicion that VS won't match it - with other offers I've been under the impression it's been same day / next at most before the other matches.

It's a lot jagpig, but it's FC round the world

and a job lot of miles. A lot depends on the value of those 500k miles, and i'm led to believe BA mileage has devalued slightly with the recent giveaways to apologise for catering issues. It might be tricky to use those miles for the rewards you want.
I'm desperate for BA miles since I have an Amex 2-for-1 voucher here but no way near enough mileage to make any use of it! Frustrating!

Triple BA Miles combined with the prospect of Amex 2for1 vouchers would make a tempting proposition.

The inlaws just sold a tin box just down the road for 25k:D

Had no problems redeeming miles so far but you have to be a little flexible exactly like VS. If its 3 times to SFO/LAX so be it.

.
Still thinking about it[:?] After re-checking it would be more like 550K miles but the only problem( besides the dosh) is that the T&Cs state over 18s only. The ba system registered junior jag for the promo without a hitch[?]
