Hi - didn't know which part of the board this message should sit...so apologies if place inappropriately!
does someone know if the electricity supply in dubai will just take a 3 pin UK plug i.e. no plug adaptor necessary.
any confirmation greatly appreciated

Electrical supply in Dubai is 220v 50Hz so UK appliances work OK (unless they are very sensitive to voltage).

With regard to outlets they don't seem to have the same uniformity as other countries. When I worked there we stayed in a complex exlusively for ex-pats and there were UK type sockets, perhaps to make us feel at home as we were almost all from the UK.

However I have also stayed in hotels where there were 2 pin sockets. So to be on the safe side take an adaptor - or if you are staying in a hotel phone before you go and ask them what type they have.
