Hi everyone! What a great site! I have been elite on Continental for years living in the US, but now I am moving to the UK and want to start accumulating miles on VS.

Any suggestions or tips, deals, etc to rack up miles or FC status would be very welcome!

I am traveling LAX-LHR on a full-fare economy ticket next week, but only have 15K miles in my account. I don't suppose there is anything I can do quick to gain an upgrade (purchase, perhaps?).

Thanks - and Happy New Year!

Hello and welcome, this type of question has been asked many time before so if you have a seatch around I am sure you can get some good ideas.
Other sueggestions for you will include stays at Hilton and Car hire with Hertz and Avis. But before you got adding to you miles have you checked if there is any availability on the upgrade seats on the flight you are taking?

Hello, and welcome to V-Flyer.
As Paul points out above, a forum search will unearth all sorts of gems, but my number one is the Virgin Atlantic 2 points per £ Mastercard.[y][y]

Also... being a paid up member of V-Flyer -details here, will give you access to a members only forum, where such tips are often discussed. ;)[8D]

Thanks to everyone for their help. I did call and although I'm on a full-fare economy ticket, my company received a discount, so VS told me the ticket is not upgradable, unfortunately. I will definitely check out other options (MasterCard, rental cars, etc) for future trips!
