Exit Seats - Upper Deck LGW 747

Hi all,

My first post but I am already addicted to V-Flyer.

A quick and easy question for you frequent PE flyers.

The exit seats mid upper deck (PE) on the LGW 747. Are they restricted at all by emergency slides ? They sound great but there was a nagging doubt in my mind about the ones on the window sides.

Can anyone help? (I know they are only allocated at check in)and I presume that they do not have a side storgage bin ?

Many Thanks - JerseyLily

Theres no restriction at all - in fact you won't even notice that there's a slide there[^]

Hi JerseyLily

Welcome to the forum :D

The exit row upstairs in PE does not have a bulging door that restricts the seating and the seating angle. The door is actually curved away from you rather than toward you.

Take a look at [url=http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/flyer_viewphoto.asp?photo_id=981&airline=&aircraft=&registration=&airport=&photographer=HighFlyer&keywords=&category=&lastpos=90&fromsearch=yes
]this[/url] picture, which shows yours truly in the said seats and you can see what i mean

Just to add ... there is a side storage bin (and overhead locker) but they are shared with the row behind, so there is reduced storage space in these seats. If you have large carry om items you can always stow them in the cupboard at the back of the cabin so its not a great problem.

These seats are great for a long flight, especially on your return, so fingers crossed at check-in :)

Thanks - that settles it! An early check in for the night flight from HAV. Special thanks to Highflyer for the photo.

No worries!

Have a great flight and let us know how it went (and if you managed to snag those exit row seats) on your return!!

I'm not sure the exit row is much better than a normal row upstairs on a LGW plane. Take a look at 74AC/HK - there's no-one behind you which can be a very good thing, and you'll have access to plenty of side and overhead locker space. Just another idea.
